Scotland's Regions

Health services in Scotland are delivered through NHS boards. Fourteen territorial boards have responsibility for services in their areas. There are also several health boards that provide specialist services at a national level. Each NHS board area represents a distinctive part of Scotland with its own things to offer. There are the long bright nights of the Northern Isles, theĀ  breathtaking scenery of the Highlands and Islands, the romantic charms of the Borders and Dumfries and Galloway.

There are the vibrant and historic cities of Aberdeen, Dundee, Edinburgh, Glasgow, Perth, Stirling and inverness; pleasant towns like St Andrews, Falkirk, Lanark, Kilmarnock, Nairn, Thurso and Wick; or more rural locations like Ullapool, Portree, Moniaive or Maybole. Wherever you are though, you're never far from the sea or the mountains in Scotland.

You're never far from good company either. Scotland is a welcoming place, with communities that still look out for one another. It's cosmopolitan too, and people from all over the world make their homes here.

There are good schools, and universities and some great places to bring up children.
