Barclay Medical Practice is seeking a new full Equity Partner to join the team. We are the largest equity partnership in Scotland and this vacancy is for our Edinburgh Division. We have 9 practices across the central belt serving over 100000 patients. We are committed to the partnership model, while focussing on innovation, technology, skill mixing and investing in staff and premises. We want to build a national practice based on core NHS principles that is different and new.
Our model is to maintain the GP partnership model but offer a range of other positions like salaried and associate GP partner positions. We have an elected management group and are structured in a similar way to a large legal firm. We have equity partners leading on each of our sites working semi-autonomously in providing local care to local people. We have skill mixing with 50% of the team being advance practitioners from a nursing , paramedic or pharmacist background. We maintain minimum staffing levels and offer a range of flexible contracts to attract and retain staff. We developed our own GP front door system that is run in house with a wide range of online forms integrated with texting solutions. We have dedicated back office teams who deal with document processing and prescriptions. We have sought to break down the day to day activity into work streams that are then managed by a dedicated centralised team. Organisation is everything. Growth is key because we believe that scale is the only solution to giving General Practice a sustainable future and a voice.
You could be an established partner or recently completed training – we will wait for the right person. You will need to be flexible, a problem solver, creative , a team leader, organised, interested in change management but above all committed to building a career in General Practice.
